Daniel Durrett, LPC, LCDC

Daniel is grateful to be given the privilege of joining clients in their journey of healing and growth. Knowing that seeking therapy can be difficult, Daniel works with his clients to create a unique context for self-exploration that is marked by empathy, compassion, and radical self acceptance. Daniel believes that people are able to reclaim agency when aided with the right support and process, offering patience and understanding as his clients encounter challenges along their path to lasting and impactful change; change occurs in the context of relationships and that process can begin with therapy.

Daniel has a passion to serve those in and around the Dallas area. He began his clinical experience as a therapist in a residential treatment setting with those who have been impacted by addiction and codependency. He continued his work, both in private practice and intensive outpatient contexts, processing experiences involving everything from depression and family dynamics to addiction and trauma. He walks alongside those who encounter barriers to the connection and acceptance for which we were all made.

Daniel enjoys demystifying the often-ambiguous experience of therapy, which explores self understanding, identity development, and healing of mental and emotional wounds. Counseling is not merely giving advice or imparting wisdom; the therapeutic alliance is an intentional relationship that is uniquely qualified to restore and empower. He believes that the client is the expert of their own lives—therefore, therapy is a process of collaboration with the therapist to reveal the client’s wisdom and promote self-efficacy. Daniel loves to learn how to serve from his clients, working with each client uniquely so they can get the most out of their counseling.

Daniel lives in Dallas, Texas. Outside of counseling, he enjoys spending time with friends rock climbing, reading, and studying theology and philosophy.
